About

The Oxford Keytones are a versatile group of Oxford-based jazz musicians who specialise in small band musical entertainment. We are composed of a flexible group of multi-instrumentalists that offer a range of jazz performance styles. Our current line-up offers soprano saxophone, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone, flute, clarinet, trumpet, guitar, double bass, bass guitar, piano, electric organ, and drums, plus male and female vocalists in 4-6 person small band performances. We offer a classical jazz small band line up of keys, drums, bass, and horn player / vocalist.

Our musicians all have alternative professions, primarily doctors, but we also have Oxford university graduates, researchers, and music students/lecturers in our mix. Having been entertaining Oxfordshire for the last 15 years in various groups and formats, we offer a wealth of performance experience across Oxford's many and varied venues. We were formed in our current line up as new venture for musical expression after the stresses of the COVID-19 pandemic. The other advantages of medics in the band is that we generally come with our own first aid cover.

We are available for hire in the Oxford and central Oxfordshire area for private parties, weddings, balls, and events. We love to play and would argue that we're the most reasonably priced jazz small band in the region! We also have tight links to the Green-Templeton College Big Band and thus offer access to a larger musical ensemble if required.

"The Oxford Keytones - definitely O.K., as the name suggests."
